We officially have a booth reserved at bf5. Should be an adventure hauling our bikes the 2,400 miles from coast to coast. Make sure you stop by the booth and check us out.
We have been working hard to get this frame off the jig and into a roller. Here are some updated pics of the progress. Also note Zach's crazy tig pedaling skills.
Here is the start to the born free 5 ironhead frame. We incorporated a wishbone in both the down tube and the vertical tube. Plan is to make it as low and skinny as possible. More to come soon.
At the end of last summer we decided to rebuild the evo. The main goal is to skinny it up. The first step was to swap out the ole springer with a set of narrow forks. We found a stock 39mm front end at a local swap meet for 40 bucks and shaved the lowers. Decided to go with a set of +6 Forking by Frank tubes and Mullins Chain Drive super narrow triple trees. Still waiting on the 21" spool wheel to see the final product.
Ran across this today and thought it was really cool. Kevin Baas is an invited bike builder for Born Free 5. He is a high school teacher that teaches a "chopper" shop class. His students are currently building 5 bikes and he is going to give the kids a chance to help with his Born Free build. I wish I had this kind of opportunity when I was younger.
